Honeymoon Update

Before we left for our honeymoon, I told Mike that I had reserved our rental car under the ‘wild car’ option, meaning that we would take whatever they had available but promised it would be mid-size or larger. Mike said, “It had better not be a minivan!” So I have been joking around about going to pick up our minivan all day when we went to the rental car place.

We walked in and Mike was outside making a quick phone call. The guy told me that the car available was a Town and Country van. My options were:
play a prank on Mike and just say ‘okay’ and surprise him when we walked up to it
ask if there were ANY other cars available
explain the dilemma to him regarding the grocery-getter
take the fall and drive the minivan around the Oregon coast

I chose option 3 and the guy asked if we could add Mike as a driver for an additional fee and then told me we no longer had a minivan. He made a big deal to say, “now this is a surprise. Go check it out.”

We walked outside and Mike and I started busting up! We are driving a Hummer! Mike says he feels more like a jerk just driving it. So now that we’ve totally lost our street cred, we are going to embark on this adventure with good directions, knowing the Oregon hippies aren’t going to help the couple from out of town in the HUMMER!!!

And what is a trip without a visit to urgent care due to illness? (Mike's sinus infection came back)We are doing great and enjoying the Oregon coast!
